"The Lake Scene" is published by Mort's Marina and edited by Kathy Mortensen. 4 issues are hand-delivered to your door by the Lake Association trustees throughout the summer months. The Phantom Fisherman column will amuse you...and the Lake Association and Sanitary District representatives will keep you informed of social events, committee reports, water patrol, and other activities on the lake.
A progressive Lake Association and Sanitary District are two more reasons Wapogasset and Bear Trap have attained such a desirable reputation. Both the Lake Association and the Sanitary District are committed to the protection and health of our lakes and the improvement of water quality. The Sanitary District rates are among the lowest in the entire state for a privately operated sewer system. Outstanding volunteers, commitment of lake residents through membership dues and donations keep The Lake Association an active and vital organization. The Association provides many social activities to help build the lake community and the Sanitary District (with the generous donations of lake residents) put on a fabulous 4th of July fireworks display and "Light Up the Lake".
